- Where: northwest Dutchess County.
- 19 miles, gentle hills (700 vertical feet, hill
index 2.2)
The Rhinebeck to Tivoli route
shares some of the same roads, but adds a visit to Rhinecliff at the
start, and continues further to Tivoli.
- Highlights: A visit to the village of Tivoli and
Bard College, with pleasant riding on tree-lined roads and country estates
along the way.
- Characteristics: Gentle hills on a straightforward route.
Traffic interaction is typical for routes on this website.
Hill climbs: Total vertical climb around 700 feet.
All climbs under 100 ft, and all sustained grades under 3%.
Downhills: One 6% grade descent for 80 vertical feet,
and one at 5% grade for 40 feet, others are less.
Traffic: About 0.3 miles of high-speed and/or
high-volume motor vehicle traffic, and about 8.3 miles of moderate
traffic. We suggest avoiding days with major events at Bard
College. We have arranged the route to pass through many of the
moderate-traffic segments early.
