A
To extend distance of route on pleasant roads: R on Rt 28A West as far as you want, then turn around and return on Rt 28A East. It is 4.3Mi to West Shokan. After that the hills get a bit bigger. Making the round trip to West Shokan lengthens the total route to 28.2Mi.

To see the main reservoir buildings, at the cost of some hill work
: L on Rt 28A East 0.2Mi, pass by Rt 213 and BL to continue down long hill 1.8Mi to main Reservoir buildings. Continue Straight on Rt 28A East 1.3Mi to climb gradually and reach the access road for the "Frying Pan" parking circle. Rejoin main route by continuing Straight on Rt 28 East. Adds 0.7Mi to route total.3.9
