Tours combining roads with the Westchester County Trailways

hannah on NYC.bicycles newsgroup:

Last weekend I explored a new-to-me route up to the South County Trail. With thanks to Ed and Trudy, here it is. Enjoy!

X wooden bridge, up steep hill
L to remain on greenway
BR to remain on greenway (do not go up bridge to 181st)
L down steps at end of greenway
L sidewalk/Riverside Drive
1st L Staff Street
1st R Dyckman Street
L Seaman Ave. to end
R W 218th Street
L Broadway (Route 9)
X Broadway Bridge on sidewalk
S Broadway
R Caryl Streets (soon after entering Yonkers)
L Van Cortlandt Park Avenue
R Coyle Pl.
R McClean Ave.
L Midland Ave
L Yonkers Ave.
R immediately after underpass
QL Cook --> Miles Square Road
X Tuckahoe Road
1st R Sprain Road
L Valley View (up steep hill to get to the view)
R Delaware
R Saw Mill River Road
L into industrial park at base of next uphill
R industrial park driveway (with yellow speed bumps)
L to exit park
R after exiting
the South County Trailway at Barney Street is straight ahead

From here I rode the whole SCT and then continued on to the NCT up to the Putman border. I was unsuccessful at finding the progress being made at connecting south and north.

From the Putnam border, I rode to Golden's Bridge. My favorite "bridge out" bridge [see hannah's October 2001 report], on Plum Brook Road, which sometime after 9/11/01 was blocked by a fence [see hannah's September 2002 report], was easily accessible on both sides because someone had clipped the fence.
