Eastview Park & Ride is the south end of North County Trailway.

Taxicab between North County Trailway and Pleasantville train station (? or on the roads for 1.4 miles, including some with higher traffic volumes and higher speeds ?)

Perhaps this route could be combined with the Eastview - interior way to make a loop.

West side of the river

GWB - Piermont - Nyack

181st St & Fort Washington Ave (or Broadway) subway station - cross Hudson River on George Washington Bridge south sidewalk - Hudson Terrace and other roads to Rt 9W North - some steep hills down and exit at Sparkill to turn east to Piermont, then north along the river to Nyack.

around 21 miles between 181st & Fort Washington Ave subway station and Nyack

Take the Red & Tan bus back to Manhattan.  Or retrace your route (42 miles round trip)

Bear Mt - Garrison

bulletGarrison train station + Bear Mt Bridge to GWB (the West side River way)

Garrison train station - Rt 9D South - west across Bear Mt Bridge - south thru Haverstraw - Nyack - GWB.  Can try using ideas from New York state Bicycle Route 9 (look for the green signs).

around 48 miles between 181st & Fort Washington Ave subway station and Garrison Metro-North train station (the West side River way)

Some very challenging downhills on Rt 9W and other roads.

If need to bail out early, can get a Red & Tan bus back to Manhattan from several stops south of Haverstraw.

North-bound the downhills are more challenging and the bail-out possibilities get much tougher to find, and no streetlights if you use up all your daylight time.

bulletGWB to Seven Lakes Drive + Bear Mt Bridge + Garrison (the Seven Lakes way)

GWB - Westwood NJ - Allendale NJ - Airmont - Pomona - Seven Lakes Drive - Harriman and Bear Mt State Parks - Bear Mt Bridge - Rt 9D North - Garrison train station

around 63 miles between 181st & Fort Washington Ave subway station and Garrison Metro-North train station (the Seven Lakes way)

Some challenging downhills -- at least one very challenging.

Before making the climb up into Harriman Park, could bail out to the Red & Tan bus at stops south of Haverstraw.

West Point - Storm King Mt - Newburgh - Beacon

bulletBeacon train station - West Point - GWB (the West side River way)

Beacon train station - cross Hudson River west on Newburgh-Beacon Bridge south sidewalk - Storm King Mountain Highway - West Point USMA campus - Bear Mt - Haverstraw - Nyack - GWB

around 64 miles between Beacon Metro-North train station and 181st & Fort Washington Ave subway station (the West side River way).

Very very spectacular and very challenging.

GWB - Westwood NJ - Allendale NJ - Airmont - Pomona - Seven Lakes Drive - Harriman and Bear Mt State Parks - West Point USMA campus - Storm King Mountain Highway - Newburgh - cross Hudson River east on Newburgh-Beacon Bridge south sidewalk - Beacon train station

around 79 miles between 181st & Fort Washington Ave subway station and Beacon Metro-North train station (the Seven Lakes Drive way).

Very very spectacular and very challenging.

Sometimes travel thru either the West Point USMA campus or on the Storm King Mountain Highway is not permitted, so try to check both in advance.

River loop around both sides

bulletGWB - New Jersey - Bayonne Bridge - Staten Island - Ferry - Manhattan - GWB

About 43 miles.  A challenging adventure with some great views and variety -- see Stories | Photos

Shorter routes can be done by using ferries or PATH trains to or from Port Imperial, Hoboken, Liberty State Park.

A possible source for route ideas could be this bicycle route:  New York Harbor Circle

bulletother Hudson River loops?

Verrazano Narrows Bridge is not normally open for skating (or bicycling or walking) -- except once a year for runners in the New York Marathon.

Tappan Zee Bridge is not normally open for skating (or bicycling or walking) -- except once a year for a charity bicycle ride for Multiple Sclerosis.

? GWB - Bear Mountain Bridge - GWB ? :  I've done this loop several times riding on a bike (see bike route).  It was a great adventure for me on a bike -- but I could not imagine trying to skate the whole thing.
